Two Iron-Rich Smoothies

Eating a plant-based diet can put you at risk of low iron. The side effects of low iron, like forgetfulness, fatigue, and irritability, can be prevented by focusing on whole foods that provide iron, folate, B vitamins, and vitamin C.

Enter blackstrap molasses. Blackstrap molasses provides 20% of your daily iron needs in just one tablespoon. This dark, rich syrup not only contains iron, it’s also packed with calcium, magnesium, vitamin B-6, and selenium.
